Okay, I didn't know what to even imagine how the end of Lost would . . . well, end. BUT, when you have to explain the finale to your husband who has remembered every little detail of each show of each season? Hmmm . . . probably not the best ending.
His comment, at the end of the show was, "I don't get it."
Okay, for anyone who is into Lost and hasn't seen the last show yet, do not continue. There will be SPOILERS.
I explained the end to him. Now to get an idea as to how sad that I should explain the END to my husband I literally stopped watching the show for a while. I did get sucked back in for the fourth season, but I'm pretty sure I stopped watching near the end of the third season. I am NOT someone who would have continued watching if it hadn't been for my husband who remembers EVERYTHING about this show. In other words having to explain that they were all dead? And that time didn't matter and that they had to have Jack to cross over? Yeah. Not really computing there.
Were any of our big questions really answered? NO. Not really. Or maybe it created a larger question like . . . who cares if the island is destroyed or not? What's the big deal? Not ever really made clear. It was all speculation as to what would happen if the 'light went out'. You know, the end of all humanity? Or maybe the end of the characters we have known for the past six seasons.
But it WAS nice to see everyone get together the way they should have been. I would have totally been fine with the alternate reality becoming the true reality, instead of being something like . . . hmm not purgatory exactly, but something akin to it.
Ultimately--the title says it all. Mostly out of focus except for a second and then boom! Out of focus again. It never changed. BUT we can all take a lesson from Jack--moving on, moving on. Let it go! And I think ultimately--I'm going to let Lost go.
Comments anyone?

What I have learned: Randy is always right.
He stopped watching after the third season and I stuck in there. He said if it ends up being worth watching he would just catch up later when it is all over. I, however, hung in there till the very end (whether I really wanted to or not). To tell you the truth, it wasn't worth it.
The ending...well, I have mixed feelings. There are a lot of open questions still, however, could they possibly have answered them anyway? I think they did the best ending possible given their "lost" viewers. We got to see everyone together and happy in the end and it was all wrapped up in a nice little bow. I think THAT is what the viewers wanted/needed to see. Whether they were dead, not dead, in alternate realities or just plain crazy. I for one am glad it is over and I can move on.
Heather,
Do you really want to put that in writing? Or maybe, Randy is always right about television . . . or Randy was totally right about Lost. Or something. I mean, do you really want him to be ALWAYS right?? ;) Well, you can always delete the comment . . .
It was nice to see everyone get together and be happy again. But then I wondered--Do Sun and Jin get to have their baby in heaven? Again? I mean she'd already had the baby. And do Claire and Charlie get to raise their baby in heaven too? Even though Claire got off the island and supposedly had a long life with her son? Oh, and hopefully stopped being crazy? That was weird.
And those are only the questions I have from watching the last episode. There are SO many more questions I have that were never resolved. So Lost stayed true to their theme. The questions are never going to be answered, curse them!
