I do want to post about all of our vacations that we took over the summer. I had such a good time, but I have no idea when I'll post about them or even blog about anything!
Anyway. I did want to say that I'm beginning to be hopeful about writing again. I have several stories in the prewriting stage (well not several, but at least two solid ones), one story that I'm discovery writing (which means no outlining, just writing it and see what happens), one book that is almost finished with the revision processes so I can seriously start submitting that one, and one book that is in the revision stage.
One of my goals is to have something in each stage of writing--hopefully someday I'll add another stage called 'published', but until then I'm just talking about prewriting, writing, revising and submitting.
I'm almost there. Then my goal will be to do something in each of those stages everyday, which is very hard for me. But I figure if I'm to ever become a professional about writing, I'm going to have to act like a professional.
In the meantime I'm still teaching--I have two creative writing classes this year, which has been fun, but challenging. I thought it'd be easy, but I've had to figure out how exactly I want to run the classes. It's just past midterms, and I think I'm finally getting a handle on it. Next semester should be better--I get all new classes and I'll really be able to dive right in with the students.
