The Blog-osphere

When I first started blogging it totally excited me and I really enjoyed blogging.

Then it got old! Real old. Same deal with Facebook.

My time started being consumed by checking out other people's blogs, commenting on them, and the thrill when they commented back on mine!

Just like any relationship, blogging is another one. It requires time and commitment. And give and take. Which means if I'm not active out there in the blogging world, it's highly unlikely that other people are going to be looking at my blog. This is how you get noticed.

Have I ever mentioned that I'm anti-social to the nth degree? Yet, I also like being noticed and appreciated--I mean who doesn't?

So there are two things that are fighting inside of me--be social and popular and spend hours reading other people's blogs, commenting on them, and then reaping the rewards of being social. Or the other choice became simply to just drop out of the blogging world.

For a while I just didn't blog. But now? I think I'm going to blog again. I think that maybe I need to start taking baby steps . . . baby step onto the elevator . . . baby step into the elevator.

So what if no one reads my blog? Let's take this a bit at a time. Maybe, someday, I'll make the time to comment like I did before and see my popularity rise. In the meantime? I guess just my friends can take a look at this blog and hopefully enjoy something!

You know, sometimes I put a blog on my blogroll on my own blog... and forget to check the FOLLOW button on the blog I'm following! D-OH!

Rectified.

I look forward to reading your posts!

My sister and I have discussed this at length. We have both slowed in our blogging and when asked why, we both responded "because nobody comments anymore!"

It is true that we should blog for ourselves, not other people. and I use my blog as a family journal and scrapbook. So why not do it for myself? I don't know. I guess because it is public, I write to entertain/please/inform the readers of our family's goings on. If it were private and just for me, I would be more apt to document and share my personal feelings on our Bremner happenings.

That being said, I have found that when I talk to friends and family, a lot of them read my blog and have never commented once. I had no idea that so many people read but don't say a thing.
I however, feel that I should be rewarded for my time and energy by receiving comments. Call me crazy.

I continue to blog because of Gage mostly. But it has definitely lost its charm for me too. But I love reading others updates and I do try to comment because I love it when others comment on mine.

I was thinking of you while I was in Oakley wishing you were there to visit with. I was there for two weeks camping and hanging out at my parents.

Robin,
LOL. I'm glad you've been such a great friend and have actually LOOKED at my blog!!

Heather,
It really does take effort if you want people to post comments etc. I just figure if I'm blogging and doing that, then if I ever get published and someone wants to know more about me--well here it is!

Amy,
When were you there? I've been out and about quite a bit actually. We MIGHT have worked something out!!! Ah well.
